  Dreading the memorial

  hey.

  does anyone else dread attending (in person or on zoom) the memorial months in advance?.

  literally as soon as new year hits, i feel sick and super anxious, and i've realised it's because of the memorial, which i only attend because of family, who kinda tell me the reason they have bad health is cuz i left the jw sevel years ago..

  Same talk. Crowded venue. If you perchance get the " hall", vacate quickly for the next crowd or wait until after bedtime for your turn

  as far as the beliefs, mostly right. Annual, we aint all going to heaven, real wine, ransom. This is shaded by the other thread of why we care any more; and a tendency toward agnosticism, atheism most of us feel.

  why are we interested in what is going on in the JW

  for the most of us, we have left the jws...and even though we are no longer jw, many of us are still interested in their beliefs, doctrines and practices as currently practiced.

  i was trying to sort out in my mind why i still care about what they are doing.

  i think the answer to that is a hope that something will develop in the jws that will wake up a lot of others, and selfishly, a lot of my friends.

  Blues: exactly, family, ingrained habits, inability to completely relate to experiences in the world.; bdays, haloween, xmas, military, prom, sex, beard/ long hair.

  " sin" is overtime, college, beard, real vacation, music, impure thoughts. The list goes on and on.

  the jws i know (which admittedly are more liberal than most) are suddenly into prepping to one degree or another.

  some have simply assembled "go bags" with basic common sense supplies in case they need to bug out in the event of a natural disaster and others seem to be seriously into it, almost to the degree to which mormons are.

  Go bags are a government idea. Amd a good one

  The rest is hubris, bible, wt for study etc. They don't want us to disappear like katrima dubs took advantage of.

  Personally my predator solution is a .22 and 9mm ( Nato). A quiet crossbow or bow is probably a good idea.

  have the rank and file been told not to "gossip", or "question" about mr morris yet?

  i am mindful of how questioning decisions was discouraged and being told to keep things confidential.

  ( maybe too soon, but do share if a special needs part comes up) you would think that common sense would tell them they cause the questions when they don't share reasons.

  Well, 3 threads. Those hoping for a gentler kinder GB will be disappointed.

  As for comparison to Ray Franz, no. Franz wanted to care for the flock, TM wanted to abuse them.

  Second school

  has the auxiliary class or second school been done away with?.

  when i grew up in my congregation we even had three schools, so three bible readings and three lots of student assignments.. after covid it seems everything is easier, less assignments now some only seem to get one or two per year.. being an elder is much easier these days, everything is done for you.

  meetings are full of videos and q&as need no preparation you could take a watchtower or cong book study with zero preparation and most midweek meetings have q&as that requires no preparation .

  Ive been tsking 3rd grade reading for 70 years. Working on " pronownsheashun". Actually think I got fired over beard. The threat was shave or give up school. A really hard decision.

  The big secret advice from the GB is unworkable. Elders not talking to each other? Wives not noticing subpoenas, lawyer meetings, searches, local news---never happen

  The one troubling thing is this seems to be a blanket fishing expedition which may not meet higher court scrutiny
